At just 19 years old, he earned his USCG 100-ton license in 1982, and over the decades, he has continuously advanced his qualifications. Today, Mike holds both a USCG 3000-ton Master Oceans license (for the past 25 years) and an MCA 3000-ton Master license, reflecting his extensive maritime expertise.
Throughout his distinguished career, Mike has had the privilege of operating and contributing to the construction and refit of numerous vessels, ranging from commercial ships to luxury yachts as large as 275 feet. His operational experience spans the globe, with routes that have taken him from Australia to Patagonia, Alaska, the Caribbean, and even the Arctic Sea.
Mike’s extensive shipbuilding background includes a decade with Westport Shipyard, where he served as a customer service representative, overseeing the completion of over 40 yachts up to 164 feet. His deep understanding of yacht refits, regulatory compliance, and operational standards ensures that every detail is handled with precision and care.
